It appears in the past hour or so, Russian commandoes with heavy duty weaponry have stormed the Hotel Moskva and have sealed off portions of it. It is not clear who they were after but it is well detailed in tweets & photos on this live blog.
The Russians are claiming after the incident it was a training exercise but nothing the Russians ever say is true so was it meant to intimidate media or where they after activists to "kidnap" them in advance of Sundays illegal referendum.
