Yanuk to make a statement tomorrow at Rostov.

Some surmises (could be completely off): Putin sees that most of his
plan will not pass. So he will give instructions to Aksyonov to have
the referendum approve option 2: The Crimea as a near (but not quite)
sovereign entity under its 1992 constitution (renewed) BUT STILL PART
OF UKRAINE. This will eliminate the "annexation" issue and pacify the
UK and the US. Remember that in early days Aksyonov recognized the
continuing legitimacy of Yanuk. This will be revived and "President"
Yanuk will continue his struggle for "legitimacy". The titushky etc.
in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv will receive instructions to shift focus
away from Russia to "Yanuk legitimacy". This will render the 25 May
election very difficult (with promoted disorders wherever possible).

What can stop this or nullify it? A quick dissolution of the Crimean
Parliament, and confirmation of the nullity of the 16 March referendum
by the Venetian commission (whose decision is expected this Friday
March 14).

And so the game will continue. For "a long time" as Khodorkovskyj just
predicted in today's Kyiv lecture to students...
