Obama's administration doesn't share this American mentality,
unfortunately. The last couple of years have seen acrid exchanges with
traditional Americans on gun control issues..
And re Obama. If the following is accurate, then the 1994 Memorandum
is zilch for Obama compared to "principles and ideals".

Of course at the moment the latter are in line with the "world power
structure" not with Ukraine's interest. It's goodbye Crimea, and I
have a feeling that if Putin strikes and Obama responds a bit more
strongly, Ukrainians will be lucky to survive as a sort of new "South
Korea", "remade in the USA"...
