The collapse of the Republican party is something I have watched for some
time, with worry. They have gone from a principled party to complete
lunacy - hijacked by a rabid tea party base. They will sabotage any effort
to help Ukraine if they think it will make Obama look bad. This is not
your father's Republican party. They are petulant, full of nihilism,
completely unhinged, and being led by snake oil salesmen.
That said, if McCain can bring at least a few of them along so that they
can work with the president in these trying times, he deserves the
Shevchenkivskyj medal.
