Siemens is not exactly the most stellar / ethical company out
there. There has been many scandals about how they conduct business.

I even experienced that on a personal level.

When I was working for an alternate energy company 15 years ago
a Siemen's rep tried to bribe me so I would use their equipment.
In fact a $25k cash bribe. I immediately asked them to leave and
reported it to the VP of Engineering.

Two weeks later my immediate VP (VP R&D) (a different VP)
announced we werre using their equipment (highly overpriced
and underpowered). Next thing I know my VP is on a plane to
Germany on a 2 week junket, He comes back and he had a top
end BMW motorbike. That VP was obsessed with BMW's.

Many of the engineers knew he sold out, just couldn't prove
it. Even the VP of Engineering shook his head in disgust.

Within 3 months that VP had me pushed out of the company
because I knew and he knew I knew.

Years later I was working with a former Siemen's employee at
another company and was told the BMW Motorbike was the standard
bribe in the company.
