In reading the whole speech, I thought it was one of his better ones, very forceful on Ukraine's right to exist as a sovereign state.

We all know that there will be no US military forces on Ukrainian soil if/when there is a war with Russia but this speech gave me hope that there will be other forms of aid made quickly available and then to start the long road toward rebulding government and military structures.

With an obstructionist Congress and an luke warm European response, I now think that without Obama, Ukraine would be left floundering. The legacy of Maidan is the support, respect and knowledge of Ukraine by the whole world.

But that does not mean that Russia can run roughshod over its neighbors. Just because Russia has a deep history with Ukraine does not mean it should be able to dictate Ukraine's future. No amount of propaganda can make right something that the world knows is wrong.
