It is an interesting question.
My personal attitude is that no debt should be serviced till
the Russians relinquish control of Crimea. It also makes
all Russian enterprises in Ukraine subject to nationalization.
Now the real question is how does one value Crimea? aka if one
was to sell Crimea tomorrow to any nation in the world, how
much would it be worth, keeping in mind assets, land value, potential
gas wealth, mineral wealth, loss of territorial waters in the Sea
of Azov, territorial waters in the Black Sea, fishing potential,
offshore resources, loss of military hardware, human potential
and even corporations that are based in Crimea like the Zaliv
shipyards, Chornomornaftogas, tourist revenue potential etc etc.
Has anybody done a real evaluation of this piece of land?
I think $100 billion would be seriously undervaluing the property
and loss of resources.
