Mychaillo Wynnyckyj mentioned in the Al Jazeera interview that Ukraine asked NATO for a NATO-enforced no fly zone in Ukraine. Is this accurate?
He claims there has been no response from NATO yet.
If they did ask for that, it was some pretty good thinking on somebodies part. The Ukrainian air force was the most neglected part of the Ukrainian military under Yanukovych and 50% of the fighters were stationed in an airbase in Crimea with only 4 out of the 80 fighters were flyable nevermind combat ready.
