Investors may have been relieved that opening up the US oil reserves, or
easing the restrictions of Iranian oil, to drive down the price of oil was
not part of today's announcements. That was talked about by pundits on
various talk shows as a potential big stick that would definately send
shockwaves through russia's petrol-centric economy, but it looks like they
are saving that card as a threat that could be played down the road if
Putin continues to thumb his nose at everyone.
