I have to admit I was never impressed by Yatseniuk. But my opinion is changing.

In a moment of crisis he has taken his position of responsibility very well

He has handled himself very well, has not fallen into the trap of living in high luxury when on the road.

When Arbuzov was in Washington he stayed in $4,500 / night hotels, had a security detail and flew in on a government jet

Yatseniuk has come in on a commercial jet, flying economy class, no security detail and stays in the embassy.

Yatseniuk spoke well at the UN, handled himself well with the President and Secretary of State Kerry.

At the UN security council gave a great speach in English, reminded that Ukraine lived up to it's terms of the Budapest Memorandum and it is time the other signatories lived up to their ends and quite aptly pointed out that consequences to Nuclear Proliferation if Russia gets away with their actions.

He also used a prop of the UN charter to remind the Security Council members of the illegality of Russia's invasion. He asked for the UN's help to defend itself against naked Russian aggression. At the end he turned at looked at the Russian ambassador and spoke in fluent Russian "do you want war?" and demanded that Russia withdraw from Crimea.

The Russian ambassador was thrown off and when it came to him to speak he "stated of course we do not want war" and then rambled off the propaganda line that it was Ukraine's fault and then went into the rhetoric which made Russia look like a North Korean "news" broadcast.

It appears there is a meeting of 50 NATO ambassadors in Brussels tomorrow at a meeting asked for Ukraine. Not clear if Yatseniuk will be handling it or somebody else.

Anyways, Yatseniuk spoke well and many news programs were impressed by his demeanor and his ability to speak to the point -- no political BS.

I have to say considering what has happened in the first two weeks of his term as interim PM, he has handled himself fairly well. I did not expect it, thus was pleasantly surprised.
