This guy is not a fanatical hothead, but a very rational Ukrainian statesman.
The main problem of the current Ukrainian government (a mixture of
pre-Maidan and Maidan psychologies) is that it has too much deference
towards "Western" attitudes as to what is required in Ukraine.
What it needs is another injection of Maidanism. The West has its
issues and interests and it will continue to help Ukraine to the
extent that these are met. But the context of this interplay must
change (as was the case in the struggle against Yanukovich-- which
would clearly have been lost if the "plans" of the Yatseniuks,
Turchynovs, et al.. had been followed).
There should be another mass Viche of the Maidan this Sunday, so as to
remind these people that the fundamental interests involved in the war
with Putin are those of Ukraine, and that they need to be more
proactive in their discussions with the "Western" partners.
