Crimea’s independent TV channel taken off air

Crimean Broadcast Centre stopped broadcasting “Chernomorskaya TRK” (Black Sea TV) TV channel and radio “due to reasons not dependent on the centre”, the official statement says. Black Sea TV is an independent medium broadcasting to the whole peninsula.

“Only two TV channels cover the whole peninsula - Black Sea TV and “Crimea” State and Radio Company. As the Black Sea TV was taken off air, the people of Crimea are now left with the only option to follow the “Crimea” State and Radio Company - medium rigorously controlled by fake premier Aksyonov and armed militaries,” wrote Aleksandra Kvitko, Black Sea TV editor-in-chief on her fb page addressing the journalists. Later Kvitko reported that the site is also down.

The channel continues broadcasting through cable and satellite networks.
