Putin's only hope is a "Crimean uprising" against Kyiv and for Moscow. If he can't get this by hook or by crook, he ain't got a chance. A peaceful mobilization of pro-Ukrainian forces in Crimea (Ukrainians, Tatars, Russians and others) would be very helpful in stabilizing the situation in Crimea and taking the "wind" out of Putin's warships.
