Opposition: New provocations from authorities loom over EuroMaidan

The government is preparing new provocations against Euromaidan, claims the Batkivshchyna party with reference to the Headquarters of National Resistance.
"Upon the directive of the Presidential Administration, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Kyiv City State Administration held a special meeting and developed an action and provocation plan against Maidan," the press service of the party said.
In the morning, central heating was turned off in the office buildings that house the protesters, particularly in the Trade Unions House.
The headquarters also claims that the Kyiv City State Administration was instructed to block the functioning of Maidan including the deliveries of food, firewood, and fuel as well as cleaning and garbage collection.
The commanders of the Trade Unions House earlier reported that the militia had been impeding Maidan's maintenance.
"The Headquarters of National Resistance regards these plans on the part of the authorities as a provocation and crimes that carry criminal liability and endanger the lives and health of the citizens who peacefully advocate for their rights on Maidan. The Headquarters demands a stop such actions," the Batkivshchyna party said.
Earlier on January 2, someone attempted arson in the Trade Unions House.
